Hello Japan Crate family,
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time.
We put together an FAQ for those of you who have not yet received April’s crate. We understand how frustrating it is to still be waiting on your crate, and please know that we’re doing everything we possibly can to get your crate to you as quickly as possible.
This is a bit long, but we want to share as much information as possible to help you understand the situation.
All April Crates were delivered to Japan Post in accordance to our usual shipping schedule with the expectation that they would ship without issue. When the 3rd & final wave of April crates was to ship, Japan Post unexpectedly suspended operations to multiple countries and refused to ship our crates. A few weeks later JP Post began suddenly returning all the April crates we had shipped throughout the month, and explained that they were unable to ship due to service interruptions.
After researching, we discovered a new shipping courier that could ship April’s crates. We started working around the clock to manually re-label each crate by hand and re-ship them starting on April 12th. Crates are currently being reshipped and in transit. Due to this, April crates were not shipped on their normal date, it should be expected that the crates will arrive later than normal.
Japan Post, because of their extreme backlog, has been returning April crates to us in small batches every day since April. Unfortunately, we can only re-ship April’s crates as fast as they are returned to us by Japan Post.
Please know, only April crates were affected by this JP Post delay (this is because most April crates had to be re-shipped using a different service). May crates were shipped using the new shipping service and should be arriving on schedule.
We expect 99% of April crates to deliver between mid-June to end of July. This is because of the manual process necessary to receive the returned crates, relabel them and drop off to our new courier.
No, May crates were shipped using the new shipping service and are unaffected. To know when you can expect your May crate to arrive, please see the shipping confirmation email that was sent when your May crate was shipped.
We take expiration dates & shelf life into consideration when we curate our crates, so there’s no need to worry about the freshness of your items! Your April Crates should arrive fresh!
No. While we sincerely apologize for the experience, we are unable to cancel your April crate as it is currently in transit and will deliver.
We sincerely apologize for this experience. Please know, we have done everything in our power to ensure that your April crate and future crates are shipped as soon as possible. For now, we sincerely ask for your patience and while we work through these issues. We can assure you that you will be receiving your April crate, it will just take longer than normal to arrive.
